An Introduction To The 80/20 Rule

What I want to bring to you, each week in this blog, is a topic that will help you gain the freedom that you want in your life. So many people crave financial freedom. But what is overlooked is the concept of time freedom.

When you can learn to free your time, and be less busy, scheduled and frantic, you can use that time freedom to not only create that financial freedom that you want but to also have improved health, a stronger family and you have the options to choose to do more of the work that you love and less of it that you don’t.

So, each weekly topic will help in one of these areas. What we want to bring to you is daily inspiration, knowledge and information that will transform your life one day at a time. Nothing that we do or talk about is based on any type of quick fix. But this weeks topic of Amplifying The 80/20 Rule is the closest that will come to it. Not because it’s a scheme to get something quicker than you deserve but a mindset on how to use what you are going to learn to make the most of your time.

Most people spend too much time on things that aren’t important. We frantically run around putting out fire after fire. We over schedule ourselves to the point where there is no margin. We believe that if we are busy, we are being productive. And quite often, nothing could be further from the truth. We’ve been convinced to believe that busy and stressed are normal. And unfortunately, for so many, it has become normal.

But it’s not effective.

When I first learned about the 80/20 Rule, I was oddly curious. I’d never been a “stats and numbers’ type of guy. Analysis of data can put me to sleep faster than a bad movie. But the 80/20 Rule- otherwise known as the Pareto Principle, got my attention. In the late 1800’s, an Italian Economist named Vilfredo Pareto noticed while harvesting his pea pods that 80% of the peas he harvested came from only 20% of the pea pods. He then applied this to macroeconomics and noticed that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by 20% of the Italians.

In time, new researchers, such as Dr. Joseph Juran, took this principle even further. He went on to note that the 80/20 Rule, as it is now coined, was in effect in almost every aspect of society. Whether is was that 20% of the roads are used 80% of the time, 20% of the people commit 80% of the crimes or that 20% of workers produce 80% of the results, the rule of 80/20 appeared universal.

What we are going to uncover this week is how you can use the 80/20 Rule to be more effective, and free up your time so you can do more with the things that produce the most results in your life and free you up from the things that don’t. I will give direct examples of how the 80/20 Rule has changed our lives and our business for the better and how it even helped me fulfill a career long dream. That’s tomorrow.

I hope you will come away from this week understanding that mastering- and amplifying- the 80/20 Rule in your life and your work will be a game changer for you and your family.

I hope you will join us this week during this fantastic topic!

Thanks!

Nobody Goes There Anymore, It’s Too Crowded

Yogi Berra was the catcher for the New York Yankees for nineteen seasons, making it to fourteen World Series and winning a remarkable ten world championships.  Yet Berra is remembered for his “Yogi-isms” as much as he is remembered for his incredible success on the baseball field. Many of those Yogi-ism’s are still used today.

Often, the very thing that gets you out of a painful spot will be the very thing holding you back from achieving the next level- and causing the next major pain point.  The idea of running your own business, controlling your time and living life on your own terms is most likely appealing to you.

If You Ever Feel Stuck- This Is The Place To Start

All it takes is one great connection to change the course of your life or your business.  Often, when I talk with someone at the very beginning of their entrepreneurial journey- or someone making a pivot- and they ask where they should start, my first questions to them are about their connections, network and friendships.

The Magic of The Unique Blend

How excited would the average candy lover feel if you handed them a regular piece of milk chocolate? I think the level of excitement would be relatively low. What about if you gave them a glob of peanut butter? Not excited for that either, you say?  Yet, by some estimates, the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup is the

Why It’s Good For The Soul To Turn Down The Wrong Clients

It is good for the soul to turn down the wrong potential clients. I have said that line for years, but I was reminded of it strongly this past week. In the past twenty-four hours, I turned down two potential clients for our Membership Freedom community who were interested in joining.  What’s interesting is that,

Three Years To Greatness

It takes three years to build it right.   The short-term thinkers hate to hear it. The impatient don’t buy it. But time and time again, it’s proven true. It takes three years to build something from the ground up and make it great.  I say this to every new member of Membership Freedom. I don’t
